Autumn

I really like Autumn in the UK. There aren't so many evergreens around Bath, so it's all big orange falling leaves and berries on bushes.

Guy Fawkes seems to work well in the cold, with bonfires and the like. I went to the fireworks up at the University, and watched the ones that Smarla went to last night from my bedroom window. There have to be SOME advantages to living up the hill of puffing death.

Sadly it is really very, VERY cold here right now. Multiple layers, hat, gloves, scarf kind of cold. Now if I could only find my gloves. The fog this morning was amazing. It just didn't let up all day. And it was a damn depressing day already. We got new carpet put in over the weekend, and had to be at work at 7.30 this morning to move the furniture and computers back. But it's OK, because the boss bought us bacon sandwiches. Yeah. I am quite tired now.

I still can't get my head around Christmas and New Years in the cold. Just as well I'll be home for Christmas at least. Mmmmm warm. *Edit* I just checked NZ weather on Stuff. Damn. :o(

I think I may be ceasing to be coherent, so I'll stop there.

Hey you.

Thanks for that. I was going to email you but I hadn't got round to it yet! I'm crashing on my brother's couch to start with - I'd kinda forgotten he lives in Wgtn now. I can also stay with Jenny and Luke in Tawa, so I'm pretty much sorted for the first week or so. If you haven't got anyone to cat-sit, I'd still be happy to do it.

Pretty much everyone is all about the couches, but that's fine. I'd rather crash on someone's couch than hit the hostels, which is the other alternative. Geeh!

The cold and fog seems to have eased off a bit, thank goodness. So now I'm watching the sun come up over the hill over the valley. Of course, I OUGHT to be getting dressed to go to work, but what the hell?
