Random Blither and Stuff

Blargh, I just spent 5 minutes assuring an automated voice that all those credit card charges really were me. I hung up on the first call because I assumed that you would get an actual person calling you if they were actually concerned about odd transactions. Silly me!

Anyway, I have had a pretty productive day today! I have sorted the litter tray, bought groceries, taken things down to the basement, vacuumed, done laundry, emailed my mother, booked a flight to Athens, and booked buses and hotels for trips to Greece and New Zealand (hence the phone call from the credit card company).

And now I'mma watch Dancing on Ice.

My cat is in a box. Your argument is invalid.

Which Goddess lurks in your soul?

Athena

You are a wise one, my dear! Athena is the Greek Goddess of wisdom, disciplined war, philosophy and knowledge. She is a selective Goddess, as she only inhabits those of your high intelligence and keenness to learn great things. You’re usually not seen without a book in your hand or your eyes glued to the internet (which is, after all, the great information highway!). This should not suggest that you don’t enjoy people, as your cleverness and sharp wit are usually in full force when in a social situation, to everyone’s delight.

Heehe, funny enough I was just chatting with the family about bits we want to visit--I have the ability and finances now to occasionally do weekends away to certain places--including Wellington again. Its intriguing, but not as much as Greece!!

My one loves drawers, laundry baskets and suitcase *face palm*

Well, Wellington is full of Wellingtonians, so it does have that going for it :D

Heehee, that sounds like me with the Dunedininites. We are not all drunk-assed students.

Seriously, a weekend trip to see something different in Wellington that is not "toruisty." What would you recommend hon?

I suppose it's hard to tell what is touristy and what isn't. I mean, Te Papa is often entertaining, for example.

Still, Summer City is on at the moment, which is all free events, and usually quite good. It would depend on what weekend one would be here, the Festival of Circus is on from the 3-10 of March and there's some Waitangi Day stuff going on, both of those are at Waitangi Park, but of course the Sevens is coming up soon too. Newtown Street Fair is always fun.

And to be honest, just having a nice day, wandering about Oriental Parade or heading to art galleries and any theatre productions that are on is good times. Going to a supermarket to get picnic food and just eating it somewhere with a nice view, or wandering around Cuba Street and looking at fun things...

Lots of stuff!

I know--your city has so much to do in just small things such as the threatre productions and Oriental Parade and stuff :) Its fantastic.

Sorry Deb for hijacking your entry! Oh question--have you tried out the flat white explanation?

If you get a nice day, you could go down to the beach at Island Bay. Bach Cafe is out there, and it used to be really good. (Haven't been there in a while, obvs!)

No, I haven't really been out for coffee since then. Will give it a go, though.

OOooh. You guys are making me very tempted. We've just had news that family from Australia (my Grandmother's family) is coming over in April and I need to clear out of the house for about 5 days. Very tempted to go up to Wellington and get some peace and alone time.

Goodluck with the explanation hon.
