I have just returned from ice skating for the first time ever. Naturally, I kind of suck, but it is still FUN! It was an outdoors rink and it had been raining, so it was pretty slippery, but I eventually managed two and a half laps without hanging on to the rail. I didn't even fall after until after it started to hail.

It was quite entertaining watching the front roll in towards us (when I was watching my feet, that is). Suddenly the wind picked up, and the hail came down. Everybody came off the rink, but then we realised it was just becuse they didn't want to get wet, rather than because they had to, so we went back out. Skating in hail and pouring rain is a tad more difficult, so at that point I went down on my arse a couple of times, but I was pretty much cackling gleefully all the way.

I wanna go again!

Yay fun!! The only time I've ever been iceskating was when we lived in England and for some reason, our school had an afternoon where they got fake ice laid down in the school hall and we had an allocated time for using it. It was mad.

I give you also the image of me lying on my back in a patch of icy water, clapping and grinning and giggling like a crazy thing.

Then the nice man came over to help me up and asked if was OK. He seemed to need reassurance for some reason...
