Hello? Is this thing on?
Jan. 10th, 2008 11:23 amHappy New Year everyone.
I keep starting entries, but mostly they have started "It's cold, work sucks, I'm sick...", and I try not to spam you with my whinyness.
So, Christmas was nice. Some friends of mine were staying at their own house for Christmas and invited me along, so I was not having a Christmas Dinner for one, which just never seems quite right. The turkey was possibly the biggest turkey I have EVER seen, much food and booze was consumed (more cheese!), and a good time was had by all.
I was still sick for New Years, but went out anyway. What? It was all very civilised - dinner party for 8, and then we wandered down to a local pub. Mind you, there was a "Fancy Dress" thing going on. Some of the staff were a leetle disturbing, like the guy wandering around in his girlfriend's knickers, garter belt and fishnets. o_O
The first Saturday of the year is traditionally a Wine and Cheese(!) evening - always amusing, and a nice way to catch up with people after the Christmas break.
And now we are all back at work. Theoretically, that is. Despite my unshakeable cough, I am one of the healthier people here. The other CSC is off with tonsilitis and possible glandular fever, and one of the girls downstairs has gone home after throwing up for a couple days. It's starting to make me decidedly hypochondriac. Between illness and meetings, I've been the only one in the office for most of the day. At least I have my MP3 player to keep me company.
I managed to get all my
pictures from Paris up, and I took a lot of pictures in the autumn as well. More of those are going up all the time. Just in case you were looking for a timewaster. :o)
I should probably get some actual work done, I suppose.
Mwah!
