OH HAI YOUSE GUISE

*waves*
So, I spent today doing proofing work for my former employers. Not my old team, so no worries. If they want to give me money, who am I to decline? It won't be a huge amount, but better than the proverbial poke in the eye.
Assuming that the repair centre doesn't find any further damage, Oscar will be repaired. Not sure the timeframe yet, but hopefully it won't take long. I am not enjoying being grounded! Especially as it means I have to get the bus out to the orchard tomorrow, which entails getting the bus well past the orchard and walking 20 minutes back. Which is apparently troubling my subconscious, as I dreamed last night that I got on the bus to go, but the driver was faffing around, so I got behind the wheel and drove it, then started worrying about getting done for GTA so got off the bus in some random town and ran for it. Welcome to my brain. O_o
We are having a group of kids up at the orchard tomorrow. The lady who organised it kept referring to them as 'Young People'. They are about 16. There 8 of them and they will be accompanied by 4 adults. I figure they're either disabled or youth offenders, probably the latter given the terrain of the orchard. She was quite determinedly vague about it. We shall see!
It looks like I'll be picking up the roles of Volunteer Supervisor and Secretary at the orchard. I had decided that the ArchSoc probably didn't need me in an administrative capacity, but apparently I was wrong. We had an Open Day the other weekend at the site of the Training Dig, which was Medieval. We had re-enacters in - it was cool! I got a good go at the archery afterwards and did pretty well. Anyway, afterwards I got asked if I would like to be their Communications Officer, which also entails being a Trustee. Oh hai stuff for my CV, come on over. :oD I am particularly chuffed because I did nothing to instigate it, they just decided I was THAT awesome. (Which I am, of course, it's just that I have got used to not having it recognised.)
I haven't downloaded pics from my camera in ages, so here's one I took on my phone of the re-enacters' tents.

One of these days I will give you an illustrated write up of the Archaeology course. There was lots of neat stuff, and I want to tell you about it! Oh, I have signed up for some day courses (Saturdays) at Bristol Uni, too. Artefact Identification, Medieval Landscapes, Investigating Local Archaeology (which is about accessing local records, etc), and the Prehistoric South-West.
I have seen
taldragon and
lazyknight twice in the last few weeks. It has been lovely spending time with them!
tiapia might be able to come to Stephen Fry with me! That would be awesome and flaily. \o/
I didn't think I had a lot to tell you, but I guess I did. Huh.
How are you right now?
