I am finally succumbing to the urge to acquire myself a laptop. Particularly as Virgin.net have thoughtfully provided me with a wireless router. I want to spend about £300, and I don't mind buying refurbed.

These are looking like top contenders:

Asus EEE PC? About the size of a hardbacked book, £290 or there abouts...

I looked at that and wasn't sure because they're quite small. But I suppose that's not necessarily a bad thing.

The other point that someone else made was that the ones above that I was looking at all have Celeron processors, which IIRC are a bit pants.

Also, I don't recognise the brand. Are Asus well known?
