For the last couple of years I have made up calenders using pictures I have taken through the year. It's always hard to pick just 13 (12 months and the cover), but this year it is insane.

I have finally finished going through all the pictures from this year, and now have a shortlist of 117. Yes, yes, I know. Shortlists, by definition, should really not be in the hundreds. But seriously, I can't even tell you how many photos I have looked at this evening. Fortunately I am limited by format - they really have to be landscape shots, so I skip straight past the portrait ones. (Even though some of them are really cool.

So, tomorrow I will go through and weed out the ones that I like, but which are not sufficiently awesome to make the next round.

But now I sleep, because that's taken a good 4 hours, and I'm knackered.

Night!

The second round shouldn't be too bad, it's when you've got it down to about 25 that it gets really difficult. And then I ask someone else. :oD

*g* I made a calendar like that for Mum for Christmas a few years ago. Mostly photos I'd taken at the National Botanic Gardens in Llanarthney, with a couple of her own garden (and cat!).

My brother in law had EXACTLY the same idea that year! Though he chose a different method - I had to get prints and stick them onto a blank calendar myself, he had them printed directly onto one. His photos were all of things the family had done over the year, though.

Oh no! What a shame that you both did it the same year!

I get them printed up. They look really good, and it's quite nice to go visit someone and see your pictures on their wall. :o)

Mum thought it was quite funny, actually. And she's kept some of the photos that she liked best to keep pinned on the wall.

Ugh. It's hard work isn't it?

You have some amazing photos from this year on flickr so I can see how hard it would be

I've only got up to July on Flickr. There's also all the pictures from France, Spain and trips around England!

Yay, you think they're amazing! :oD
