The last couple of days in the area have been very frosty. No really. See how white it all is? Frost.

Only, yesterday the snow kicked in as well. Now before you make mock, keep in mind that most of England doesn't get a lot of snow on a regular basis, and the South West very rarely. This is the second time in nearly 7 years I've seen a significant amount of snow on the ground. So I'm working from home. In fairness, I wandered out the front about half an hour ago and no one has even thought about trying to get their car out. Not from my road, anyway.

I'd say I was staying safe, except that I slipped on the stairs earlier and fell down. No major damage, but I've definitely jarred my back a bit. Flatmate's second response was, "Are you OK?" Her first response was, "Well that was clever." Funnily enough she got told to fuck off.

Ooooh, spot who's in a bit of a mood.

Anyway. Here is my back garden as of 8.30 this morning.

That's it, I'm moving in with you.

I agree completely and am feeling the same way.

I'll even offer back massages for your back Deb, to sweeten the deal.

*hugs gently* Get a heat pack/hot water bottle on your back and take it easy, if possible with work. Goodluck!

I'm mostly doing a lot of phone calls from home. A pain in the arse, but nothing too strenuous.

Mostly I'm just cranky from giving myself a shock.

*hugs* Still, sore and being grumpy doesn't make the job any easier.

D'awww. *hands you virtual chocolate, if that would help*

No, feeling cranky while making phone calls does not work so well.

Mmmmm chocolate. I have chocolate somewhere...

I could imagine. You have a stress ball yet? *g*

Heh, chocolate makes everything better.

As long as you don't try to be funny when I've hurt myself, you're in.

Or we could swap. I've found I'm OK up to mid-30s.

I live with someone with chronic pain. I'm very good at compassionating, fetching and carrying, etc.

It gets hotter than mid-30s here. You'd be well glad of the air conditioning.

Right now I'd be well glad of the flatmate not leaving the front door wide open for 5 minutes while she puts her coat on. "It's OK", she said when I asked her to close the door, "I'm going back outside."

I continue to be proud of my self-restraint in allowing her to live. (Some days I should not interact with people.)

Letting the heat out is NOT ON.

I agree! That is NOT COOL. Especially on the damn power bill.

Congratulations, your self-restraint is legendary. I'll be extremely closed to growling. (And yes, some days people=bad.)

But it's OK. Because she's going back outside.

Good work on not face-shooting her. That will tend to keep you on the right side of the authorities.

Now, locking her out however... Will not affect anyone except her, and *it's okay* you are just staying back inside. She can come back in later.

I'm grumpy. And therefore evil. And probably wouldn't do that in real life, but the thought is there

I am going to cheer myself up by imagining that scenario.

*imagines*

Yep, it's working!

*giggles* Glad to be of service :D

I admit, I miss snow. I'm too close to the sea in Dunedin or Timaru to see it often.

Oh, how beautiful!

Living vicariously through your pics, since I've moved somewhere where it NEVER ever snows.

(I grew up in a mountain state and got snow every winter. *sniff*)

I grew up near the coast in NZ. I vividly remember the time it snowed up on the Peak when I was 4. This whole 'icy roads' thing is NOT COOL.

The other day I had ice crystals forming on the inside of my windscreen. What is that all about?

Oooo on the pretty snow. All of ours melted days ago.
Ouch on the fall *purposely does NOT pull out pain chart in an attempt to be funny*

Ours is still falling gently.

I would put it somewhere between "Are you sure this tech's safe" and "I think we should put it back now".

Planning to stay home tomorrow too then? I would have said in the safety of your home, but....yeah.

*makes note on chart*

Depends on the state of the road tomorrow. I suspect it's going to be icy, which would mean yes. We'll have to see.

Ugh. I'm really not good with the idea of icy roads and paths. *shudder*

Sends you some of our heat.

The ironic thing is that having decided to stay home, I then slipped and fell on the bloody stairs.

Le sigh.

AH well, at least we haven't had any snow yet in our winter. What, you say? It's meant to be summer in NZ? Tell that to the weather;/

Boo on the back (and the flatmate!). Take care out there and hire a minion if you need too;p Also, I would think gently closing the door for the flatmate while saying "Well, I'm just going to shut this till you're absolutely ready" could work?

Date: 2010-01-06 09:52 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] debitha.livejournal.com
Another one of those summers, huh?

Don't you use your 'logic' on me. Did you not see the mood image? Huh?

She was standing right in the doorway, otherwise I would have just closed it in the meantime. I mean, I could have just pushed her out the door and closed it in her face, but I get the feeling that would not have been in the spirit of your suggestion. :oP

Yeah, plus you know how we like to complain about the weather;p

Anyway, what I should have said was "Greek Islands Greek Islands!!". I must send you an update on my plan:)
