I was productive!

I did go to the Farmers' Market, and got yummy things! Wild garlic pesto, mushrooms (including fresh shitaakes, which I love), and some venison steaks.

And then I went home and began the process of Spring Cleaning the fuck out of my room. Stuff has come out of drawers, and out of cupboards, and out from under the bed. Shelves have dusted, furnniture has been moved and vacuumed behind. The conclusion I reached was that I required more storage. So I called it a day, and went out for sushi for my dinner.

There was only one answer to the storage problem. Ikea! So I got my Zen on, and braved the Sunday Ikea hordes and returned with a new chest of drawers, two large storage boxes for under the bed, four small storage boxes, and a set of three plastic containers. (And a star lamp. I love the kids' section at Ikea.)

Never mind falling in love, Ikea is hard on the knees. But I successfully assembled my spanking new chest of drawers, shoved a load of stuff in one of the boxes to get it out of the way for now, and chucked it on top. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I'm allowed to move it now.




I'm not done with the organising yet, but there are things that have homes that have never before had homes - I don't think I have had a room this damn organised before. I am feeling very proud of myself.

I am also feeling very lucky to have a forgiving cat. You see, I had to get her a vaccine booster. This entailed the ultimate betrayal of using kitty treats to trick her into the carrier. Other than that, it was relatively non-traumatic. Well, for me anyway. I fed her as soon as we got home, and she appears to have forgiven. She is sitting on her red box, looking down at me. Hopefully that's not a vengeful gleam I can see in her eye...

I have cooked a lovely dinner of pork with wild garlic pesto and fried (sauteed, I think, for the Americans) potato, and mushrooms.

And now it's 9pm and I'm knackered, and I'm going to bed.

Omnomnom! Food sounds good as does organised room. Go You!

I need to get me some storage space but I really want a cool old glass fronted cabinet to store my tea cups etc. Not so easy to find :(
