Jack Harkness: hair product through the ages.

Yep, the devil's bargain. Surprises. And a previous time (Spanish Flu 1918) - more surprises.

They'll live forever huh? Jack seems to share my opinion of that.

Don't worry Clem, it'll only last for a minute. They could have warned him though.

Aww, holding him through waking up, despite being seriously conflicted. Ianto, you're a good boyfriend.

Ohh Alice, you do hardass quite while. Although I'm not sure about the implication that you were hiding in fear of him because he was angry, when you had him round for tea the other day.

Always with the "No choice" malarkey. Sigh.

Oh, this is going to be unpleasant, isn't it. Poor bastard.

The kids have been stripped down for parts, haven't they? Yep, more or less. Interesting definition of not harming them.

Backpedal faster, bitch. Oh, you have just got yourself fucked, mate.

"I could've helped." Oh sweetheart, he needs to sort it out on his own. Heh, the eyeroll. Ooooh, someone's defensive. And using the truth as an offensive weapon. Your defence mechanisms are blunt instruments, aren't they, Jack.

And he does what Ianto wanted, because Ianto's right. There was a conversation earlier about Jack nabbing Frobisher's wife and kids, because it's something he'd have done in the past, but he won't because he wants to be that "Better man". *hearts*

"Units". And really, like they're going to take 60. Crappy negotiating techniques, PM.

Frobisher's aren't bad though. Oh look, the numbers are going to be the number of kids they want. Another suprise. Had anyone not worked that out last night?

Oh good, Frobisher has finally decided to refuse the buck. Second born child? *glad I'm the eldest*

That woman has balls, if nothing else. It's a difficult argument to discredit, too. (Which is not to say I'm for it, just that it's a hard position to argue against in circumstances like that.)

Ianto isn't expecting to make it, is he? "I love you, I love the kids, even Johnny's beginning to grow on me." That's a goodbye of ever there was one.

Oh noes! They've found them! They must be expecting it, though. They were so careful about phonecalls before.

Booyah!Go Lois.

He called TORCHWOOD! DRINK!

Decker? What? Why are you doing what random guy tells you, instead of your alien overlords? Dazzled by the teeth?

Ahahahaha "I liked the philosophy" "I gathered".

It doesn't seem to be able to get past the past. It's quite determined.

Oh what a surprise, they made a bulletproof tank. Duh.

Ianto? *wibble*

Oh hey, they did make him psychic or something. Poor thing.

So is Decker saving the day, or just himself?

No really, if Ianto's really dead, I will be seriously narked.

Well now you've done it, you idiot. The "I Love You"s are always a sign of imminent death.

FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKUFCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK.

Oh hell. That is so much worse than the actual death scene. All the things being said in the silence. The fact that I'm typing this is the only thing that's actually keeping me from crying and frankly, I may yet. I'm not a big crier but... Ianto!!!

Damn it! I was really hoping that the spoilers were wrong :-(

However- it still sounds like it was a good epiosde. Really want to see all of the episodes together- think the story line would come across better and not so fragmented- putting things like Ianto into a perspective.

Thankyou for your type-up.

*hugs*

It's quite pathetic how much I appreciate that hug. Kudos to the writers, I guess.

I guess Rhys was a red-shirt herring.

It was a good episode, there were a lot of confirmed guesses, things moved along nicely, the scene where they're debating how to select the kids was chillingly realistic. They had this really mumsy looking character being Rani-esque.

BUT THEN THEY KILLED MY IAAAANNNNNTOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! *sniff*

There can be no perspective! There is only dead!Ianto!

I'm going to hide under ex-Tosh's desk go curl up in a blanket burrito.

*hugs again* I find this ironic- we complained of the writing last season, and now with good writing- they write out Ianto!

Yay for it being a good episode- good to see thats why James Moran is proud of it and oops? about a mumsy character being Rani-eque? Please don't be that pragmatic :-)

I agree about perspective- but its called I am adopting Ask-World as my canon so I can like COE as a story and be appreciative of the writing, directing and cinematography! (Beside- I'm mainly in the fandom due to Sam's writing and other peoples' writing- canon has never really been an issue for me as one, I can't write and two- there are too many plotholes *grins*)

*gives you a blanket burrito* there there, get some sleep! *grabs another blanket burrito*- I have a feeling the internet is going to implode.

I know right?

It's not really an oops - it's a nice bit of juxtaposition. She just rolls out some brutal logic: If we lose 10% of our children, we can better afford to lose the ones that have a higher likelihood of growing up to be dole bludgers and criminals than the one's that are more likely to be our doctors, nurses, teachers, etc. It's repulsive but compelling. I... don't think I can be that pragmatic.

I am so with you on sticking to Ask-World canon. THEY ARE IN THE FUTURE! THEY ARE AS SAFE AS THEY EVER ARE! WHO'S WATCHING THE FUCKING RIFT?

I bet the internet did implode. I haven't checked yet. I'm going to have a quick look, and then I need to get to work.

Thank you for the blanket!

I know. Hence why I am waiting for a few weeks before doing a reaction post- want to see the episodes all together and actually *focus* on the overall storyline, symbolism, writing/acting/directing and cinematography, coz there were some excellent shots.

I haven't seen the episode as I am waiting for both of them- but sounds chilling. And in those times, there has to be someone to do it unfortunately!

Apparently you are :-) But its okay, we can fly over to help! Perfectly willing to fly and help in the UK at TW's expense :-)

I think it did- but I have a limited flist so it didn't really implode, although Sam's post took awhile. If you are still around- come in join us in chat, anne and kei are in with me!

your welcome.. I'm glad to be under one while being sick :-)

Leaving aside the fact that I am gutted over Ianto, it is still a brilliant series. Everything has come together beautifully - the director is brilliant, and doing an excellent job of managing the actors, who are also being awesome. The sets, and camerawork and just pretty much everything really works together.

I think Sam, Claire and others are looking at a bit of a nose-kissing session to soothe us all. I figure we bust out TW5 after that. Pshaw. Bring the Tomahawk. :o)

I am in there, just also having to do enough work to get away with spending the better part of this week online. :oS

I agree- and I've only seen it on youtube so it is very much fragmented for me!

Yes, I think they are.. yay! I will try my best to be around then- and I agree about TW5.. should we start with the Hub being abandoned and getting back in to put it to rights and grabbing tech or something? Btw- by Sunday night, there will be an email in members' inboxes on a selection of secret volcano bases. Might push that up to tomorrow, pending on Askworld.

Sorry hun, got work at 7am and 10.30am so have just left. You must have just come in as Anne and I left! Yay for having enough work to be able to multi-task
:-)

Fair enough! And you're sick. :o(

I am completely unspoiled, so it's all pretty edge of the seat for me.

See you tomorrow!

I'm not sure he's dead. After the RTD spectacular at the end of Who series four, I'm witholding judgment until tomorrow night.

If he's dead, then the show has a heck of a lot of work to do. Fandom is up in arms, and an angry fandom is just not a good thing for a show to have.

*cuddles* Not what I needed tonight.

However, on a lighter note, I am coming to your location next weekend to have dinner with a friend, so if you like I could bring you money, and buy you a coffee or something by way of interest?

I don't know. Unless they do a rewind (for which they really need the Doctor), dead is pretty much dead (unless you're Jack).

The thing is, do we know there's going to be another series? Because at this point all it would take is for Gwen to help sort this mess out and get herself and/or Rhys ret-conned so they can raise their kid safely, and this incarnation of Torchwood is over. I await tonight.

*cuddles back* Me neither. Do:

That would be cool! I have a couple of things on I would need to work around, but it should be imminently do-able. What day are you here?

This is what I get for making statements without having seen all the episodes. Apparently this is not the case. FINGERS CROSSED!
